Word of the Year Hanging Decoration

A wooden star displaying your chosen "Word of the Year" to keep it top of mind.

A “Word of the Year” is an alternative to a New Year’s resolution. I don’t know about you but I’ve made plenty of New Year's resolutions and none of them ever made it past the middle of January. The “Word of the Year” is a gentler, kinder approach to help direct your intentions and actions throughout the year, especially when difficulties come and/or life gets overwhelming.

This star has been created as a tool to gently remind you of your "Word of the Year" throughout the year. The simple design and neutral colours mean it fits with the style of your home. It’s best hung somewhere that you can see it often. I’m at my desk most days so I have hung mine over my computer.

The star has been stained a rich, warm brown colour and the "Word of the Year" painted in a beautiful contrasting white. The stars are stained, painted, varnished and finished with white organza ribbon in my studio.

To receive your "Word of the Year" ornament simply place your order with your chosen word of the year in the personalisation box and I will get to work. As you can see from the examples the size of the writing is determined by the length of the word. Longer words will be smaller so they can fit onto the star. Each word of the year will have the year 2022 added underneath, it is also possible to have stars created with previous words of the year, please make it clear in the personalisation box.

The star is presented on an A6 backing card, and posted in a hard backed envelope.

Due to the hand painted nature and use of natural wood each star is unique and will vary from the examples shown.
